A video podcast from Chicas en Tecnología where young people from the community talk with women who are shaping the present and future of technology.
Today, only 36% of people working in tech companies in Argentina are women.Given this reality, connecting young women with role models who are already building their careers in technology is also a way to broaden the paths they can envision for their future.
For many young women, imagining themselves in certain roles begins with seeing that other women are already there.
Codeadas is born out of necessity
Codeadas is the video podcast from Chicas en Tecnología that generates encounters between young people from our community and leading professional women from various fields within the tech ecosystem.
In each episode, the young women converse with their guests about their journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, what they do in their jobs, how they view the change the industry is undergoing, and how they envision opportunities for the next generations.
The program aims to move away from the traditional interview format to highlight the young women’s genuine questions and curiosities: “How did you get your start?” “What were you doing at our age?” “What decisions shaped your path?” “What skills do you need to work in technology nowadays?” “What’s changing and what comes next?”
The young women who take the floor
In Codeadas, the young women are not only the audience but also the protagonists within the conversations..
The first season is hosted by Valentina and Delfina, members of the community within Chicas en Tecnología who lead the interviews and shape the conversations based on their own questions and interests.
Valentina and Delfina are 20 and 21 years old, respectively, and from their own journeys as young women who are currently pursuing their education and furthering their professional development, they offer a first-hand perspective on the concerns of the new generation.
Through various activities, they guide conversations toward career paths, work, innovation, AI, leadership, and the challenges and opportunities technology presents.
An industry that needs more women
Women’s participation in the tech sector remains uneven. In Argentina, Women currently account for only 36% of people working in tech companies..
In light of this gap, knowing about diverse professional histories could help open up possibilities that young women imagine for themselves. Hearing about how other women got to where they are, what obstacles they faced, what decisions they made, and what they learned along the way— shows that there is no single path to building a career..
It also helps highlight the diversity that exists in the sector: Programming is just one of the many possible paths. Leading teams, working in marketing, designing products, investigating, starting a business, analyzing data, creating communities, working with AI, or driving innovation processes are just some of the possibilities that show up in Codeada's conversations.
The women who are shaping the future
The first season of Codeadas brings together women with diverse journeys within the technological Ecosystem: Camila Manera, Lucía Parrondo, Eliana Bracciaforte, Carolina Campos, Silvia Tenazhina, Miriam Frías, Cristina Lorenzo, Agustina Paz, Valentina Arce, Sofía Geyer, and Fernanda Pérez Marinoamong other role models who join in on this first stage.
Everything from Artificial intelligence and data to gaming, innovation, leadership, marketing, entrepreneurship, and neuroscience, everyone brings a different view on how to transform the industry and the opportunities that are opening for the new generations. Outside of their roles and specialties, everyone has something in common: They are taking decisions and building the technological world of the future.
Technology is transforming the way that we study, work, and connect with the world. In this context, generating spaces where young women can ask questions, learn about diverse experiences, and interact with role models is also a form of opening up the opportunities they imagine for their futures.
Codeadas is a space to meet up, ask questions, learn, and discover new paths. A space where young women and women role models can meet to converse about the present and think about the future of technology together.
The episodes of the first season are available on YouTube and Spotify, and the main moments from each conversation can be found on Chicas de Tecnología’s social media.
