AI Camp 2026: An adventure in creating with Artificial Intelligence

We had more than 4,200 enrollments in our new AI Camp workshops.A free experience organized by Chicas en Tecnología to introduce participants to artificial intelligence, teach them new tools, and inspire them to create technology that makes a difference.

During this edition, participants explored various activities that combined learning, creativity, and reflection. Learning about artificial intelligence involved discovering new tools, but also asking ourselves how we use them, what impact they have, and what we can create with them.

Learning, experimenting, and creating with AI

Throughout the AI Camp, participants were able to explore different uses of Artificial Intelligence and develop new skills. They learned to program a chatbot, to create images, music, and stories, identify biases and deepfakes, and use AI tools to enhance aspects of their academic and professional lives, such as putting together a resume or planning a routine.

They also had the opportunity to hear different perspectives on the impact of artificial intelligence on the workplace. During a panel discussion with industry professionals, they discussed how AI is transforming professions, which skills will become increasingly important, and the challenges posed by this technology.

Learning to create: The Hackathon

One of the most anticipated moments of AI Camp was the closing Hackathon: a space to put what they’d learned into practice and turn ideas into prototypes.

Working in teams, the girls identified problems, came up with solutions, and used technology to bring them to life. The result was a wide variety of proposals that showcased everything they could create when they had access to tools, knowledge, and spaces to experiment.

Among the projects developed were:

  • An app to improve concentration, designed to help people organize their study time and reduce distractions.
  • A tool to find wheelchair-accessible locations, making it easier to access information about venues and their accessibility features.
  • A project to discover one’s calling through play, which aims to support the exploration of interests dynamically.
  • A tool for creating an attractive resume, based on each person’s experience and knowledge.

Beyond the prototypes, the hackathon was an opportunity to work as a team, test ideas, make mistakes, start over, and discover that creating technology can also be a way to transform the world around us.

An experience that leaves a mark

AI Camp 2026 left us with much more than just projects. It left us with questions, lessons learned, new connections, and, above all, the certainty that when girls have the opportunity to engage with technology, they can become creators and leaders.

We also received many messages from the participants, who shared how they experienced the event, what they learned, and how much they enjoyed being able to create alongside other girls from Latin America:

“Thank you for being a bridge for those of us who are just starting,” - Kaiane.
“Thank you for these opportunities—I’m leaving this workshop feeling totally inspired,” - Aylén.
“Honestly, the whole experience was amazing,” - Valentina.

The experiences and lessons learned from this edition highlight the value of creating spaces where young women can engage with artificial intelligence from a creative, critical, and collaborative perspective. At Chicas en Tecnología we work to ensure that access to technology isn’t limited to its use, but also empowers young women to imagine, design, and develop solutions to the challenges around them.

AI Camp 2026 was made possible thanks to the support of the S&P Global Foundation, Santander, the Lenovo Foundation, and Latimpacto—key partners in continuing to expand these opportunities in Latin America.

Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering greater participation by young women in the STEM ecosystem and to providing them with tools and experiences that allow them to see themselves as leaders in technology.
