Who is developing technology in Argentina?
PARITY
IN CODE
A look at the presence of women in Argentine technology companies
Why this research?
The technology sector is one of the main drivers of growth and employment in Argentina, but this development does not translate equally into the participation of women, especially in technical and leadership roles.
Faced with the lack of systematized and publicly accessible information on what happens within private sector technology companies, this research by Chicas en Tecnología seeks to generate evidence to understand how this participation is expressed today and to provide concrete inputs for decision-making, in a context marked by technological acceleration and the transformation of work.
What is not measured, is not transformed.
What is happening in the private technology sector?
Let's build a fairer future of work
Sharing this information is key to circulating the data and making women's participation in the technology sector part of the public conversation.
Looking at data to transform the future
The data from Parity in Code not only allow us to assess the current state of technological employment, but also to identify the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead to transform the sector. Having evidence is a starting point for rethinking practices, policies and decisions within companies, the educational ecosystem and the public sphere.
Moving towards a more egalitarian technological development requires will, commitment and concrete actions that expand opportunities, diversify roles and guarantee fairer conditions for those who are still underrepresented today.
This study invites us to use data to imagine and build a more equitable future of technological work.
About Chicas en Tecnología
Chicas en Tecnología is a non-profit civil society organization that, since 2015, has been accompanying young women in Latin America to move from being users to creators of purposeful technology. Through educational experiences, programs to accompany them into the world of work and a community of peer support, the organization promotes more equitable trajectories in the technological ecosystem.
In addition, Chicas en Tecnología develops research and evidence-generating projects aimed at making gender inequalities in technology visible and providing inputs for decision-making, policy design and the transformation of practices in different sectors, in coordination with public, private and civil society organizations.
