Transforming Data: The First Census of Chicas en Tecnología Begins

This year, Chicas en Tecnología presents #CensoCET, a regional data collection aimed at all the young women who have taken part in, at least, one program, workshop, event, or scholarship from the organization from its beginning to this date.

The census is carried out online from February 19 to March 4. To participate, it is only necessary to complete a form that can be accessed by clicking here

Since 2015, Chicas en Tecnología has been looking to reduce the technology gender gap in the region. In the last year, +1,600 young women from 15 Latin American countries created 225 technological solutions with a social impact.

Monitoring the educational and professional journeys of the participants of Chicas en Tecnología’s programs and initiatives will not only strengthen the understanding of the diverse CET Community but will also improve the initiatives designed to reduce the technology gender gap.

The lack of data on topics related to gender inequality in technology is a significant barrier when it comes to implementing effective strategies that promote women’s participation in the sector. #CensoCET’s initiative aims at transforming this context by identifying specific areas of intervention to expand the opportunities for women in the technology field.

Chicas en Tecnología follows a Youth Protection Policy. In this context, the collected data will be treated confidentially and exclusively for statistical purposes to increase the participation of young Latin American women in the organization’s initiatives.

The census is carried out online from February 19 to March 4.
Completing it takes only 15 minutes and it can be accessed by clicking here
