Over 60 Young Women from the CET Community Were Trained in Leadership and Became Ambassadors
Chicas en Tecnología (CET) finished its first Leadership Program, where over 60 young women from the CET Community completed their training and now stand out as CET Ambassadors, performing a key role in our community.
This program, which is part of the Trayecto CET (CET Journey) in the Future Development stage, is aimed at providing crucial tools for their professional and personal growth, such as project leadership, effective communication, development of interpersonal relations, and analytic skills.
Through CET’s initiatives, many young women take their first steps into the world of technology. When trying to pursue further training or get a job, most of them face challenges related to gender stereotypes, which often end up pushing them away from those spaces.
Having women in technology is paramount to changing perceptions and encouraging more girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM. A study by Chicas en Tecnología and JPMorgan found that 43% of young women below 17 years of age do not have female acquaintances working in the technology sector.
Because of this, not only did the Leadership Program encourage their leadership and inclusion in the technology field but it also introduced them to a network of leading women who inspire and empower the new generations.
This training represents an important step toward building a more equal future, where young women can picture themselves as protagonists and achieve their potential in the world of technology.
“The greatest value the program offers to young women is self-confidence. Moreover, it allows them to be part of a supportive and collaborative network that goes beyond the program, connecting them to other young and adult women from the technology field. This is a space where they boost their profiles in order to lead and innovate and be authentic in the journey toward their goals,” Marina Sisca, a Development and Community Referent, said.
