{"id":22754,"date":"2025-10-30T09:02:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T12:02:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chicasentecnologia.org\/?p=22754"},"modified":"2025-10-30T09:04:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T12:04:32","slug":"more-than-1000-girls-experienced-pumm-2025-an-experience-to-create-purposeful-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chicasentecnologia.org\/en\/2025\/10\/30\/more-than-1000-girls-experienced-pumm-2025-an-experience-to-create-purposeful-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"More than 1,000 girls experienced PUMM 2025: an experience to create technology with purpose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>PUMM | Programming a Better World<\/strong> was much more than an event: it was a <strong>transforming experience<\/strong> where more than <strong>1000 girls between 13 and 23 years old<\/strong> met face-to-face and virtually to <strong>explore, create and think together possible futures with technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held at the <strong>C Art Media of Buenos Aires<\/strong> and with a simultaneous virtual edition by <strong>YouTube<\/strong>the PUMM 2025 was a <strong>technological innovation festival<\/strong> devised by girls from the <strong>CET Community<\/strong> and designed especially for them. During a day full of energy, creativity and inspiration, the young women were able to discover the power of building with others and the impact that technology can have when put at the service of transforming realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Creating with others: the heart of PUMM<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the highlights was the <strong>HackaPUMM<\/strong>an express experience of creation in which <strong>five teams made up of young people from the CET community<\/strong> designed <strong>prototypes of technological solutions<\/strong> to respond to <strong>real challenges<\/strong>with the accompaniment of <strong>professional mentors<\/strong>.<br>It was a collective demonstration of how ideas, collaboration, and technology can be combined to <strong>transforming the world with social impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Women who inspire futures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Women Leaders Panel<\/strong> brought together three leading figures who shared their trajectories, lessons learned and inspirations with the participants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cecilia Galarza<\/strong>engineer, professor and researcher at UBA and CONICET, expert in information processing for communications and sensing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Julia Mensa<\/strong>CEO at <strong>Nunatak Biotech<\/strong>who showed how to combine science, innovation and nature-inspired technology to advance biotechnology and planetary health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solange Bagnasco<\/strong>, <strong>Data Governance IT Lead at Prisma Medios de Pago<\/strong>who shared how to lead from a global perspective. <em>data driven<\/em> to promote strategic decisions based on information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Their voices showed that there are many possible paths to professional growth in the tech world, and that the future is built on diversity, purpose and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spaces to learn, explore and imagine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the PUMM, a total of <strong>14 talks by girls for girls<\/strong>where young people from the CET community shared their experiences and learnings on topics such as <strong>cybersecurity, UX design, programming, project leadership<\/strong> y <strong>first steps in technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were also <strong>13 labs of exploration, games and immersive and interactive activities<\/strong>The participants were invited to put creativity and teamwork into practice. Some of the proposals were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Fashion and tech: From metrics to window dressing<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Team mode: in-game collaboration<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>1, 2, 3 express solutions!<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Pitch: your idea in a minute<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Coffee in action: conversation rounds<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Your guide to developing technology with impact<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Citizenship 3.0: networks with conscience<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>AI: your digital ally<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Tech girls: leading the revolution<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Conquering the online street: gender(s) and digital citizenship<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the girls enjoyed a <strong>immersive visual and sound experience<\/strong>a <strong>artificial intelligence photo spot<\/strong>and a <strong>artistic intervention<\/strong> where <strong>historical women in science and technology<\/strong> -like <strong>Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie, Cecilia Grierson, Valentina Tereshkova, Grace Hopper and Elisa Bachofen<\/strong>among others - \"came back\" to tell why they were key to the story and how they were <strong>paved the way for other women<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Technology with social impact<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The event also included a <strong>school project fair<\/strong>where high school students presented science and technology initiatives that seek to improve their communities: garden automation, noise pollution control, urban tree care, biological mosquito controllers, 3D printed assistive devices, connection between people and nature through sound, and automated homes to improve energy efficiency, safety and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Community, collaboration and inspiration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The PUMM was made possible thanks to the joint work of the team of <strong>Girls in Technology<\/strong>together with <strong>Foundations<\/strong> y <strong>Teach for Argentina<\/strong>in the framework of a project <strong>co-financed by the European Union<\/strong>and to the accompaniment of <strong>mentors, speakers, partner companies and organizations<\/strong> that are committed to a more egalitarian future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"PUMM 2025 reaffirms our commitment to a more egalitarian future with more opportunities: when we bring tools, possibilities and community, girls transform ideas into technological projects with real social impact,\" she said. <strong>Lucia Mauritzen<\/strong>executive director of Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>PUMM 2025<\/strong> left an imprint: it showed the value of the spaces where girls can <strong>imagine, learn and create together<\/strong>discovering its potential for <strong>building a more just, inclusive and diverse future<\/strong> through technology.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"PUMM 2025 Programming a Better World | A Girls in Tech Adventure\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7Fti2nZ63D4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PUMM | Programming a Better World was much more than an event: it was a transformative experience where more than 1000 girls between the ages of 13 and 23 met in person and virtually to explore, create and think together about possible futures with technology.
