Girls in Technology (CET)<\/a> organized a day<\/a> to discuss the challenges and opportunities that Artificial Intelligence represents in the world of work and how it impacts the gender gap in STEM disciplines. The objective was to foster the exchange of ideas and promote concrete actions so that the development of AI generates new possibilities for labor inclusion.<\/p>\n

The event was held at \u00c1reaTres and brought together ambassadors of the Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda programs, representatives of the education sector, the private and public sectors, journalists and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n

“In recent months, conversations about the development of artificial intelligence have accelerated, generating growing uncertainty among both young people and our allies about how new developments will impact the professional insertion of future generations and current generations. On the one hand, artificial intelligence brings with it new opportunities and invites the creation of innovative developments. On the other hand, it challenges us to collectively reflect on how to ensure that these technologies do not increase existing stereotypes and gaps, but rather that they become a tool that promotes the real inclusion of women in all their diversity in technological environments.<\/em>\u201c, he said Paula Coto, Executive Director, Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Meeting with the Ecosystem included a panel discussion with the participation of Mart\u00edn Mart\u00edn Sciarrillo, Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft Spanish South America (SSA), and Vanesa Cillo, Sr Director of Engineering at Salesforce. The people who participated in the event had an opportunity to ask questions and exchange comments and proposals with the speakers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe pretend that the very algorithms created by mankind are unbiased when mankind is full of biases; we pretend that they are free of discrimination when mankind is full of discrimination. Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda aims to reduce the gender gap in technology in Argentina and Latin America. To achieve this, it is essential to analyze the impact of developments in Artificial Intelligence on the professional insertion of young women in the region.<\/p>\n
