A new opportunity has arrived for young women from Latin America who want to get to know the world of technology with social impact<\/strong>. This is the 3rd edition of Protagonists of the Future<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda's free program with the support of The Walt Disney Company Latin America. The proposal is aimed at Spanish-speaking young Latin American women between the ages of 16 and 21 who identify with the female gender. Those who wish to participate may apply until May 20.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is Protagonistas del Futuro?<\/h5>\n

Protagonists of the Future is a free, regional, online program<\/strong> which seeks to encourage the inclusion of adolescents and women in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).<\/p>\n

What content does the program cover?<\/h5>\n

The 3rd edition of Protagonistas del Futuro will have a renewed content plan that will deepen the training in programming with social impact<\/strong>. At the end of the program, participants will have a mobile application created by themselves, navigable and functional. Prior to this final development, they will learn to identify social issues, research and use data, as well as notions of design and user experience. Through this comprehensive experience in the world of technology, they will also enhance their leadership, communication and project management skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How is the course modality?<\/h5>\n

The program lasts 8 weeks, during which the participants will work in groups through synchronous meetings and will be monitored and supervised by support from facilitators specializing in STEM disciplines<\/strong>. In addition, they will participate in panels with Disney and Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda professionals to learn more about the work environment and development possibilities.<\/p>\n

Is it necessary to have programming skills to participate?<\/h5>\n

It is not necessary to have previous programming knowledge to participate. Protagonistas del Futuro seeks that all young women in Latin America can expand their opportunities and become part of the technological ecosystem. Graduates from previous editions and from other Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda programs who want to deepen their knowledge in programming can also join this edition to advance their projects.<\/p>\n

More than numbers, opportunities<\/h3>\n

The 3rd edition of Protagonists of the Future features 600 quotas<\/strong> for young people in Latin America. More than 500 participants have already graduated from the first two editions, who expressed their interest in being part of specific calls in which they learn to develop their own solutions. In 2021, 90% of the graduates agreed that the topics addressed in relation to technology were relevant to their training, and 75% clarified their vision of their future work or academic career.<\/strong>. This year, a new opportunity awaits them to be creators of technology with social impact.<\/p>\n
