Code of Conduct and Coexistence<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda (CET) we believe in technology as a tool to transform realities. For this to be possible, we take care of the spaces we build together: programs, events and activities must be safe, respectful and free of violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Code of Coexistence and Conduct applies to all persons participating in CET initiatives - whether participants, staff, volunteers, consultants, partners, sponsors, speakers or organizers - and seeks to establish clear guidelines for coexistence based on respect, diversity and collective care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our principles<\/span><\/h3>\n

  • We promote inclusive, diverse and safe spaces for all people.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n

  • We value participation, respectful exchange and active listening.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n

  • We reject any form of violence, discrimination, harassment or intimidation.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n

  • We care for individual and collective well-being as a central part of our community.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What we expect in our spaces<\/span><\/h3>\n

    All persons participating in CET activities are entitled to:<\/span><\/p>

    • Be treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n

    • Participate in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation or unwanted behavior.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n

    • Expressing and sharing ideas in a caring framework, without mockery, disqualifications or symbolic violence.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      We hope that those who are part of our spaces:<\/span><\/p>\n

      • Maintain respectful treatment of other individuals, teams and the organization.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

      • Be aware of the impact of your words and actions.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

      • Contribute to building a friendly, diverse and collaborative climate.<\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>

        Conduct not permitted<\/span><\/h3>

        In the Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda spaces, behaviors that threaten coexistence and respect are not tolerated. This includes, among others:<\/span><\/p>

        • Harassment in any form, whether physical, verbal, written, gestural or symbolic.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Offensive comments, jokes or messages related to gender, sexual identity or orientation, physical appearance, disability, ethnicity, religion, age or other personal characteristics.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Intimidation, threats, harassment or repeated interruptions that affect the participation of others.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Use of sexual images, messages or references in inappropriate contexts.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Personal disqualifications or criticisms of work, processes or decisions outside the institutional feedback spaces provided by CET.<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          About language<\/span><\/h3>

          At Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda we promote the use of respectful, non-discriminatory and non-exclusive language. We invite:<\/span><\/p>

          • Use language that does not reinforce stereotypes or hierarchies.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

          • Avoid sexist, racist, ableist or discriminatory expressions.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

          • Prioritize clear, empathetic and caring forms of communication.<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

            We know that language is in constant transformation and we understand these guidelines as an invitation to learn and improve collectively.<\/span><\/p>

            Responsibilities and care<\/span><\/h3>

            Organizers - including staff, volunteers, consultants, speakers and partners - are responsible for actively promoting compliance with this Code during all activities.<\/span><\/p>

            Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings during events, programs or activities.<\/span><\/p>

            Noncompliance<\/span><\/h3>

            Chicas en Tecnolog\u00eda reserves the right to take the measures it deems necessary in situations that violate this Code, including suspension or prohibition of participation in activities, programs or events.<\/span><\/p>

            Our goal is not to sanction, but to take care of the spaces we build and ensure that everyone can participate in a safe and respectful manner.<\/span><\/p>
