The development of this policy is based on international child protection standards. It is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) and its optional protocols, the Declaration on the Elimination of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation by United Nations personnel, Argentina's national child protection legislation, and international best practices.
