The following is a Code of Conduct and Coexistence drafted by the Chicas en Tecnología Steering Committee that governs programs, events and activities coordinated by the non-profit Civil Society Organization (CSO).

We value the participation of each member of the organization as a volunteer, permanent staff or consultant, and we trust that their experience in the activities we organize will be pleasant and satisfactory. Consequently, we expect every person who participates in our programs or events to show respect and courtesy to other attendees, coordinators, referents, members of the Board of Directors during them and in any activity related to them.

Chicas en Tecnología, its volunteers, permanent staff or consultants are not responsible for the loss, theft and/or damage of property belonging to those attending the programs, initiatives or events.
We intend that everyone who attends, exhibits, organizes and collaborates (voluntarily or under service contract) with each event, program or activity complies with this Code of Conduct. Organizing entities (including speakers, staff members, volunteers, consultants and sponsors) will be responsible for promoting compliance with this Code throughout the event and/or program.
People participating in our activities have the right to be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect, and to be free from any form of discrimination, victimization, harassment or intimidation, as well as to enjoy an environment free of unwanted behavior, inappropriate language and inappropriate images.

Harassment, understood as inappropriate physical contact, offensive communication related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, photographic harassment or recording, sustained interruption of conversations or other events involving communication in its most general aspect (verbal, written, gestural or physical) and that is offensive, is strictly prohibited.

Be careful with the words you choose and seek to collaborate in the use of inclusive language1; remember that sexist, racist and other exclusionary jokes are offensive and not allowed. It is also considered offensive to evaluate the work, processes and ways of acting of each individual or of the CSO that are not within the framework of an institutional feedback space (group or individual). We trust that it can generate a respectful and diverse treatment, reflecting the pillars that our community fosters and celebrates.
We reserve the right to prohibit access or request an immediate discontinuation of participation in our programs, events or activities indefinitely to those who do not comply with this Code.

1 The use of inclusive language is under debate, revision and transformation both in Latin America and in other parts of the world. There is no consensus standard on the use of a form of language that does not discriminate on the basis of sex or gender identity. In this context, Chicas en Tecnología seeks to use language in a way that does not perpetuate gender stereotypes or attribute characteristics to people because they were born with a certain sex.
