Milagros Dubuis is 20 years old and works full time as a data analyst in an international technology consulting firm. But her path to a job in technology did not start with certainty, but with curiosity. And it took a few years.
Her story reflects a reality of today's technology sector: access to training, references and real experiences can be decisive for more young girls to enter the technology industry.
How do you know which role is better in technology?
When Mili first approached the CET Community, she was in an exploratory stage. She knew she was interested in technology, but she didn't know the diversity of roles and opportunities the industry offers.
In 2023, after a year of participation in the community, he decided to take a key step: to start the University Degree in Programming at the National Technological University of Argentina. He finished the course in May 2025, consolidating his technical bases.
In parallel, she participated in various training and mentoring programs of Chicas en Tecnología, which strengthened her technical skills, her professional development and her ability to project herself in the sector.
How did you discover that being a data analyst was for you?
Mili participated in two editions of the Mentoring Program, in 2024 and 2025, at different times in her career. There she was able to connect with women professionals from the technology ecosystem in a personalized process tailored to her needs.
In the first instance, he explored the world of technological work from scratch. In the second, with more training, he was able to make more specific decisions about his professional profile.
Thanks to mentoring, he succeeded:
- Identify your interest in data analysis
- Understand that there are multiple paths within the technology.
- Develop skills to manage professional spaces
- Strategically design your career path
This process was decisive in redefining his professional objective and orienting himself towards the field of Data Analytics, an area of growing impact in all industries.
Young Professionals: approaching the technological world of work
Through the Young Professionals in IT program, he had access to direct experiences with the corporate world. He participated in company visits, networking spaces, training workshops and meetings with professionals in the sector.
This allowed him to understand that technology cuts across multiple industries, from finance to healthcare, education and consulting. This experience broadened her perspective and allowed her to visualize concrete job opportunities, strengthening her confidence to initiate job search processes.
Prototyping teams: learning to work in real environments
Milagros participated in the prototyping teams, a training-action initiative in which young people from the CET Community design, plan and implement initial tech training spaces for other girls. During this proposal, Mili developed fundamental skills for working in technology, including:
- Collaborative work
- Project organization and management
- Troubleshooting
- Strategic planning
About this experience, she emphasizes: “Being able to work as a team at an organizational level was key for me. I realized everything that is necessary to carry out any project or initiative”.
Girls in Technology's influence on career development
Beyond technical skills, Milagros highlights the impact of Chicas en Tecnología's support in her professional development: “Each program accompanied me at a different stage of my journey. They helped me understand what I like, how to grow professionally and to see that there are many ways to build a career in technology.”.
Her story demonstrates that access to a community of peers, professional references and real opportunities can be decisive for more young people to develop careers in technology, especially in an ecosystem where women are still underrepresented.
