A proposal that enhances collective leadership
At Chicas en Tecnología we believe that the real change happens when the young people lead. That is why we created PUMM (Prototyping a Better World)The experience was designed so that the girls in our community could take a step further in their journey, becoming creators of knowledge, networks and solutions with purpose.
For three months, a group of young people from the CET Community, a group of designed, planned and facilitated a workshop on technology and social impact for other girls. It was a process of training, practice and collaboration: they chose the topics, defined the dynamics, coordinated each instance and accompanied other girls to imagine technological solutions to real problems.
Many lived for the first time the experience of leading a team, making decisions, being in charge of a proposal and seeing their ideas materialize. Together, they were encouraged to solve challenges and build a meaningful space for others. They discovered that they had a lot to say and that their voices could be inspirational.
We are excited to see how they grow when they have the space to do so. Because when they have confidence in their voice and their abilities, everything changes. And that is what we want to continue to promote: a community where young women feel they are the protagonists of the present and creators of the future.
