Chicas en Tecnología (CET) helps young women to learn about STEM disciplines and their possibilities for growth and development in these areas. In addition to programs to bring girls from Latin America closer to the role of technology creators for the first time, the organization offers training proposals and opportunities for them to continue learning about the subjects that interest them most. In order to accompany them in their development and enable their participation in the industry, CET brings a new proposal: its first specific training program for participants to deepen their knowledge and begin to specialize in the following areas.
This initiative consists of a course that combines the languages of front-end programming most commonly used in the professional environment -HTML, CSS and JavaScript- with leadership and communication skills. The training experience will last two months and will combine online and face-to-face meetings. The girls will be able to access the CET Campus, where they will find all the necessary resources to complete the course. In addition, they will participate in special activities together with professionals in different disciplines related to STEM areas in order to learn more about the professional world and the possibilities of specialization. At the end of the program they will have completed the development of their own website as part of a technological project with social impact.
Chicas en Tecnología motivates, trains and accompanies young women to become creators of the digital solutions used on a daily basis. They bring new perspectives, identify current and diverse issues and can build answers to the needs of the communities in which they live. Bridging the gender gap in technology will allow societies to develop more equitably and dynamically.. May there be more and more young women creators of technology.
